Tube Settler Plate
AquaSust Tube Settler Description:
Inclined plates in tube settlers offer the advantage of creating a countercurrent flow, where there is an upward flow of water and a downward flow of sludge. This countercurrent flow enhances particle settling and sludge accumulation by reducing drag forces through the reduction of frictional forces. Similar to how frictional forces increase as water gets closer to the surface of a pipe, the use of inclined plates helps to minimize these forces and improve the settling process.
One of the benefits of using PVC for tube settler modules is that it eliminates the need for hold-down systems or clips. PVC has superior mechanical properties compared to ABS, resulting in a structurally sound installation without requiring additional supports or fasteners.
The advantages of tube settlers can be applied to both new and existing clarifiers and basins of any size. They greatly enhance the quality of the outlet in clarification and sedimentation units, leading to improved overall performance and efficiency. Tube settlers can be manufactured using PVC, PP, or stainless steel sheets and can be used with or without frames. Our products are trusted and preferred by water and wastewater companies, DSİ, and municipalities. We have successfully implemented tube settlers in numerous domestic and international projects. Furthermore, tube settlers have obtained certification for suitability in watery food and potable treatment plants. The standard colors available for tube settlers are grey and black.
By utilizing tube settlers, customers can achieve higher quality water treatment, improved sedimentation, and enhanced operational efficiency.
Product advantages:
In 1904, Allan Hazen made a significant discovery regarding the sedimentation process in clarifiers. He found that reducing the settling path of solids could greatly improve the efficiency of the process. For more detailed information on the Hazen theory, please click on the pop-up banner.
Implementing tube settlers or plate settlers as surface layers in clarifiers offers notable benefits. Tube settlers are typically made of PVC plastic and comprise multiple corrugated sheets that are bonded together to form rectangular blocks with multiple channels. On the other hand, plate settlers are constructed using stainless steel plates assembled into large modules.
The use of these settlers helps optimize the sedimentation process by providing an increased surface area for solids to settle onto, promoting efficient particle removal. This, in turn, leads to reduced filter backwashing requirements, resulting in significant cost savings in terms of water and electricity consumption.
Tube settlers and plate settlers are valuable components in water and wastewater treatment systems, enabling enhanced clarification and sedimentation processes while minimizing operational costs.
