Silicone rubber has better high-temperature stability than rubber and can maintain a certain degree of elasticity and durability in high-temperature environments. In addition, silicone rubber also has excellent UV resistance and anti-aging performance, with a long service life, usually 5-7 years. However, the price of silicone rubber is relatively high and not suitable for all customers' budgets.
3. EPDM Fine Bubble Disc Diffuser
EPDM fine bubble disc diffuser is a cost-effective aeration tray material. EPDM has excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and high-temperature resistance, with a service life of over 10 years at room temperature. In addition, the quality of EPDM disc diffuser material is stable, and there will be no uneven diffusion due to changes in oxygen content. Therefore, EPDM disc diffusers have become the choice of many customers.
4. PVC Material Aeration Disc Diffuser
PVC air bubbles disc diffuser is a relatively inexpensive material suitable for customers with limited budgets. The PVC material aeration diffuser has good corrosion resistance and antioxidant performance, and its service life is about 3-5 years at room temperature. However, PVC material disc diffusers are prone to deformation and aging. Over time, the hardness of PVC disc diffusers will gradually decrease and become prone to deformation. If the customer's sewage treatment system requires a long-term operation, it is recommended to choose materials with better corrosion resistance, such as EPDM or silicone.
In addition to the advantages and disadvantages mentioned above, there are also some slight differences in the use of disc diffusers made of different materials:
1. Durability
Polypropylene material disc diffusers generally have strong durability, can withstand higher water pressure and longer usage, and are not prone to cracking and deformation. Polyurethane material fine bubble aeration also has strong durability but is relatively inferior to polypropylene.
2. Breathability
The silicon rubber material disc diffuser has uniform pore size and good breathability, which can evenly disperse bubbles and improve the aeration effect. However, the pore size and distribution of polyurethane and polypropylene are not as good as those of silicone rubber, which may result in uneven bubbles.
3. Cleanliness
Due to the presence of microorganisms during use, the aeration tray needs to be cleaned regularly. Polypropylene material disc diffusers are relatively easy to clean, while silicone rubber and polyurethane disc diffusers are relatively difficult to clean and require special cleaning methods.

Firstly, there is an EPDM material disc diffuser. EPDM material disc diffuser is a high-quality, long-life disc diffuser, usually with excellent performance such as corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, aging resistance, and wear resistance. Due to the superior performance of EPDM material itself, its manufacturing cost is relatively high, resulting in a higher price. Generally speaking, the price of EPDM material disc diffusers is two to three times higher than that of PVC material disc diffusers.
Next is the silicone material disc diffuser. Silicone material disc diffusers have excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and good elasticity, making them widely used in the high-end market.
