One additional advantage of inclined tube settlers is the countercurrent flow they create, with upward water flow and downward sludge flow. This countercurrent flow improves particle settling and sludge accumulation by reducing drag forces through frictional forces. Tube settler profiles can be easily assembled to fit settling tanks of various sizes and shapes, including square, rectangular, and circular tanks. They can be configured to suit any basin size and geometry, making them suitable for both new and existing covered, underground, or round tanks. In contrast, plate settler modules are often too large to fit into existing covered or underground tanks, and they are not compatible with most round tanks. Tube settler wastewater treatment ensures efficient removal of sludge, maximizing clearance. The presence of tubes extends the filter run time and minimizes the chemical requirements for sedimentation.
