Brentwood Tube Settlers

Brentwood Tube Settlers
Details:
The extrusion process heats the raw material (PVC, polypropylene, etc.) to its melting point and pushes it into a die to form a specific shape. Most extruded profiles are usually "V" or "U" shaped with a tongue and groove on each side. After the shapes are extruded, they are assembled side-by-side and back-and-forth. This type of design ultimately provides essentially the same tubular channel as a thermoformed tube sinker.

How Aquasust generates UV Tube settler?

There are many different types of precipitators on the market with different channel shapes, materials of construction and manufacturing methods. As mentioned in a previous blog post on the strength of precipitators, AquaSust uses a thermoforming process to produce UV precipitators, which is different from the extrusion process. The thermoforming process uses a flat piece of plastic sheet that is heated inside a mold to form a specific shape. The shape of the molding varies slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but in general, the plastic flat sheet is molded into a series of corrugations. Once the individual sheets are glued together, these corrugations form tubular channels. Many manufacturers assemble the corrugated sheets directly together, while others will insert a flat plastic sheet between the corrugated sheets for added rigidity and strength. AquaSust  takes this a step further by thermoforming the structure on a flat sheet to create a "wave plate" that is more rigid than a simple flat sheet.
