Membrane bioreactors (MBR) are based on a combination of biological treatment and membrane filtration units. Sludge retention in compact systems such as MBR is independent of sludge properties. In this system, sludge and water are separated by membrane filtration. This makes the system very robust and flexible. Membranes are connected in modules: stacks of tubes, hollow fibers or plates.
The MBR package is a fully self-contained MBR wastewater treatment system comprising the following process stages:
1. Entry screening
2. Primary/anoxic tank - denitrification
3. Aeration/Membrane Bioreactor Tank - Nitrification
4. Membrane filter components
5. Product Water Reception and Disinfection
6. RAS and sludge removal
Fully Pre-Assembled and Factory Tested MBR – [External] Factory
The primary and bioreactor tanks are open topped with safety railings around the entrances. Osmotic pumps, aeration blowers, dosing systems, monitoring and control systems are housed in a lockable control room at the front of the plant.
