Moving bed biofilm reactors for water treatment:
AquaSust MBBR biofilm carrier is an efficient biological treatment process based on the combination of traditional activated sludge method and biofilm media. The MBBR process uses floating high-capacity microbial biochip media in an aeration tank and anoxic tank. Microorganisms consume organic matter. The culture medium provides a larger surface area for the attachment and growth of biological microorganisms. The increased surface area reduces the footprint of the water tank required to treat wastewater. The treatment process can be aerobic and/or anaerobic and run under high capacity loads.
