MBBR Bio filter media, used in Integrated Fixed-lm Activated Sludge (IFAS) and moving bed biofilm reaction (MBBR)system. The wastewater goes through the suspending media of the MBBR reactor, forming a biological membrane on the surface of the media gradually. With the action of microbial on the biological membrane, wastewater is purified. MBBR media can move freely in the reactor with the mixing of the water. For the aerobic reactor, the aeration will make the media move; for the anaerobic reactor, mechanic mixing will make the media move. Our MBBR media is a developed media and has a better treatment effect compared with traditional media.

Bio Media moving bed bioreactor reactor (MBBR) filter media has a well-documented history in filter applications.

In the MBBR biofilm technology, the biofilm grows protected within engineered plastic carriers, which are carefully designed with high internal surface area. These biofilm carriers are suspended and thoroughly mixed throughout the water phase. With this technology, it is possible to handle extremely high loading conditions without any problems of clogging.

Bio Media may be used for pond filters, aquaponics, hydroponics, sewage treatment, DIY applications, and more.

 

Advantages of MBBR process:

1.The fillers are mostly made of polyethylene, polypropylene and their modified materials, polyurethane foam, etc. The specific gravity is close to water, mainly cylindrical and spherical, easy to hang the film, no agglomeration, no clogging, or peeling easy.

2. Since the filler and water are all moving, the mass transfer between gas, water and solid phase is better, and the biofilm on the filler has higher activity, which improves the organic load and efficiency of the system, and the effluent quality is stable.

3. The application of MBBR is more flexible, with various reactor shapes, compact structure, and small footprint. Under the same load conditions, it only needs 20% of the volume of an ordinary oxidation tank.

4. Small head loss, low energy consumption, simple operation, convenient operation and management.

5. The microorganisms adhere to the carrier and flow with the water flow, so there is no need for sludge backflow or circulating backwashing.

6. The biofilm will fall off naturally and will not cause blockage.
